SWARM Initiative

The South West Agricultural Resource Management (SWARM) initiative is an RDPE funded project aimed at helping farmers and horticultural businesses to become more efficient at using farm resources.

There are three elements to the initiative. Two of these offer direct advice to farmers:

  • Soils for Profit covers soils, manures and nutrients and is delivered by Natural England in partnership with the Environment Agency
  • Resource Efficiency for Farmers covers energy, water, air and inorganic waste and is delivered by Rural Focus

Advice visits aim to help farmers identify any issues present on farm and explore potential mitigation options.

The advice visits are free to farmers and growers.

The third element of the initiative is this site, the SWARM Knowledge Hub. See About us page.
